Matthew McMillan

Growing up in Nashville, I was surrounded by family and friends who owned and operated small businesses across a wide range of industries. Watching them build something from the ground up, and seeing the impact it had on their employees and community, shaped my entrepreneurial instincts from an early age.

I went on to compete as a Division I athlete at the University of Tennessee, where I ran Track and Cross Country while completing a double major in Finance and Marketing and graduating magna cum laude. Balancing a demanding training schedule with a rigorous academic workload taught me how to build routines, lead within a team, and perform under pressure, skills I carry with me every day.

After Tennessee, I joined Regions Bank in Birmingham, where I spent over two years in the treasury department as a valuation analyst, helping manage a portfolio that grew from approximately $750M to over $1B. I then returned to Nashville to pursue my MBA at Vanderbilt, where I have focused on broadening my operational and managerial skill set in preparation for acquiring and leading a business of my own.

I am looking for a company where I can roll up my sleeves, lead a great team, and make a lasting impact on the people and community around it.

Outside of work, I have kept up my commitment to running, most recently completing the Boston Marathon. I love to travel with my wife, who is beginning her career as an attorney, and we share a mutual passion for cooking and trying new restaurants across Nashville and beyond.
